Tom is mistaken. The LX came out in 1980, the MX was discontinued in
1985 or 1986. It was discontinued after a run of about ten years. This
was the beginning of the era of more automatic cameras.
I don't think the MX was a financial disaster.

I have the Epson 1650 and I think it is good enough for the web.
You really need to tell us what budget you have, what wild-life you plane
to shoot, how close you're going to get to the wildlife before it's easy to
give any advice. Usually, you'll be better off with a prime lens than a
zoom but what focal length you need depends on the questions above among

Paul, you can easily loosen the clamp screws at the bottom, (the silver
clamp bad is just a friction setup and the screws are very easily
accessible) and swivel the whole unit through 180 degress to point backwards
though if you wanted too.

Pentax made a 2X-L converter dedicated to the longer A* series ED lenses.
It works OK with these lenses. Otherwise, no non-dedicated 2X converter

I got a SuperProgram last summer from KEH. I've only shot one roll through
it without any problems. Yesterday, I noticed that the shutter speed
display inside and out was set on 1/1000 and would not change automatically
or manually. I popped in two new batteries and the problem went away.

My best deal would have to be my ME super with 50/2.0 I got for free. It
was a never picked up refused repair at a lab I worked at. The owner was
