Hello Walter,
If I am reading between the lines properly, you shot with the Vivitar
for both shots, both using the Vivitar Auto exposure leaving the
camera settings the same.
To shoot a vertical shot with the Vivitar you would then need a
bracket for either lightsphere or Lumiquest, I take it.

No, the lightsphere doesn't squash. I have a bag just for flash equipment, and
it fits nicely in there. But I will probably keep it mounted on the flash most
of the time, because I can still shoot bare flash or ceiling bounce just by
removing the cover and aiming the flash as normal. (Actually,
I use a dedicated tripod mount for the 600.
The tripod is a Gitzo 1548 carbon fiber the mount is a Kirk King Cobra. I
figured after spending this much for the lens, I wasn't going to take the
cheap way out for support.
I also drape my left arm over the barrel to lessen vibrations. Sometimes

be freshness of batteries in either one or you are not fully
discharging. My method of testing was to set the flash to manual
(full discharge) and then fire it from the test button.

I've installed version 3.0 of the Firefox web browser and it looks good.
The big news, of course, is color management: Support for embedded ICC
profiles in images. But I believe they've revamped the entire graphics
engine for the better.
All the old add-ons/extensions I used before are fine

I'm sure something could be arranged. There are wild (as in not
herded) reindeer on Hardangervidda, a mountain plateau between Oslo
and Bergen. Reputably Europe's largest population, even.
You'd have to bring your own 600mm for the full experience,
though. :-)
