out of question because it is too expensive for me. So I am considering the
Sigma 28-70 2.8 EX ASP

Tokina 28-70 2.6-2.8 Pro II

Hello Alex,
I don't have experience with the Sigmas, and I also don't
have the specific Tokina you mentioned. What I have is
Tokina AT-X270 Pro (28-70/2.8), which is really good.
The best thing I found with Tokina is its build quality.
And if you use MF cameras, Tokina is even better than
vignette with the RTF?
I know the 28~70/2.8 does.
Thanks,

Anyway, I know I just saw the answer to my next question very
recently so I'm sorry to ask it again; but, what brands do you recommend for
a 28-70/2.8
downwards. This lens really should have had
inner focusing design like the FA* 80-200/2.8.
Hi Pål,
are you sure that this lens (28-70/2.8) is still being
made like this? I think it is about 10 years ago when
it was introduced. From your description it seems that
this lens has such a big design flaw
Its really more complicated than that. The lens is a fusion of great built
quality with some pretty obvious compromises done in order for the power
zoom and AF to be able to do its job. On many samples the power zoom is
unable to zoom past the 35mm setting without the help of gravity; that is
I would say this would be the best third party standard zoom around.
Solid Built. Sharp.
do a search under http://www.photozone.de/
under pentax compatible, f2.8, standard zooms.
I still like the AT-X better than the AT-X II.
and who said it isnt a Pro Lens?

Hi all,
Well, I'm getting another body through auction. (Woo hoo!!)
It'll be my first AF body, and come with F35-80/4-5.6.
However, I prefer a constant open F value, and came across
with the above lens. So, I'd like your frank opinions on
this.
If anyone has/had this zoom, how does it feel,
i do have one of those lenses and i can't say enought good things about
it . it is very well built ,all metal with hld glass . about $200.00
is a good price for it .
