[SlimDevices: Plugins] iTunes Update using Boom remote?

2009-06-26 Thread prob
Hi. I don't think the small remote that comes with the Boom allows you to rate songs (no numbers on it). I could see how this could be done by adding some sub menu's. Can this feature be added? -- prob prob's Profile:

[SlimDevices: Plugins] ? iTunes Update plugin

2009-04-28 Thread starcat
Anyone know how the SC to iTunes update work, i.e. the other way round where the iTunes Library is updated with playcount, last played and ratings from SC? I think that this plugin is called iTunes Update and is written by James Craig, http://www.jamescraig.co.uk/SlimServer Does it just update

Hi Starcat, The plugin actually does the updating via iTunes' own interface (using COM on Windows and Applescript on the Mac), so in fact iTunes must be running for it to work! James -- NOTICE: If received in error, please

James, thanks much! I have a Qnap NAS running linux with SC7 on it. I have iTunes running on a different Mac computer. The iTunes library xml file is located on a share which is imported on the NAS so that SC can import ratings and playlist from the iTunes xml file. Now, I would like to have the

Thanks for the SlimServer plugin: iTunes Update. I have downloaded and installed version 2.7.0. I am running: SqueezeCenter 7.3.2. But I can’t get it working? I have set 'Automatically run on system start' and disabled 'direct update'. Instead I run iTunesUpdate.pl manually but nothing happens

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ITunes Update doesn't update the last track

2009-02-17 Thread Craig, James (IDEAS)
It's always done this, nothing new. There's no notification that plugins can use to tell when a track finishes playing, just when a new one starts. (Or at least, there wasn't when then the plugin was written). James --

Okay, James, thanks for the clarification. Guess I just haven't noticed this earlier, so it's obviously no big deal! A bit annoying now that I've spotted it though... What about the other issue? The song timer stops after 0.2 secs, then starts again. Is that also normal? /Mats -- MatsLarsson

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ITunes Update doesn't update the lasttrack

2009-02-17 Thread Craig, James (IDEAS)
Yes. It's just some sub-optimal code that picks up the track starting twice. (BTW, switching off the squeezebox also triggers recording of the last track played. Mine is switched off automatically when I change sources on my amp, which is why I've never tried fixing this) I thought I'd done

[SlimDevices: Plugins] ITunes Update doesn't update the last track

2009-02-16 Thread MatsLarsson
The last track of an album or playlist doesn't get updated in iTunes until another album is started. Below is the log of the two last tracks of an album. Another strange thing is that 'Starting a new song' occurs twice for every track. I'm on Win XP, SC 7.3.2, most recent versions of ITunes

I am seeing this too, so can confirm it is also a bug on 7.3.3 on Mac OS X. I have also noticed a few occasions when iTunes Update seems to have stopped updating completely. Not sure I can track down when this happens, but restarting SC brings it back to life again. Incidentally, are there any

For reasons that probably make a good deal of sense, 'Direct Update' is not a default. Once I read far enough through the code, I found that, changed it, and now iTunes is updating and I'm happy again. Thanks for the plugin. -- scottzorch
