I've recently had to move computers and I can't get itunes update
working on the new one.
Basically everything is the same as the old computer in terms of Perl
version, file location etc, so it tries to run, but I get this message
c:\itunesupdate>itunesupdate.pl
Same deal here. I think it has to do with the ItunesUpdate.pl using
some form of GMT instead of localtime, but I'm not sure where this
should be changed in the script. Hard to test since I'd have to update
both the txt file and the test copy of my iTunes library each time.

I am not sure why this is not working for you. It should work if you
install the plugin folder in either location. Is it possible you have
it installed in both places? Have you copied the complete folder and all
of its sub-folders? Is the iTunesUpdate folder showing up in either

I've fixed a bug in my patch where tracks with empty albums or artists
would not get updated.
After installing the iTunes Update script, replace the attached .pm
file. You will need to restart LMS for the plugin to be re-loaded. I
don't think you need XCode.

As I started this thread I should report that I still have not found a
way to make iTunes Update work with versions of LMS after 7.5.6. I have
now taken the decision to update LMS anyway and stop using iTunes

I had a track with no album set in iTunes, but the mp3 itself contained ID3v1.1
tags which had an album name.
The album was then showing up in SlimServer and breaking the plugin's search of
iTunes.

That does imply some sort of discrepancy between the MP3 tags that SlimServer
is reading and the meta-data that iTunes is using. Do you see anything
obviously wrong when you look the Get Info screens in iTunes? Maybe different
types of apostrophe?

I worked out that 'make' was on the Mac OS disc and so installed the
developers tools through Xcode.
However still get the same error when I try to intall the applescript

Those warnings shouldn't stop the plugin from working. (Although I am sure I
have fixed them already)
Slow startup time may indicate a problem opening iTunes from the plugin.

SlimServer seems to take about 10mins or so to startuop - and looking

Glue was installed properly. And suddenly only that error. even
reinstalls or many reboot did not fix that

I have set 'Automatically run on system start' and disabled 'direct
update'. Instead I run iTunesUpdate.pl manually but nothing happens
It's always done this, nothing new.
There's no notification that plugins can use to tell when a track finishes
playing, just when a new one starts.
(Or at least, there wasn't when then the plugin was written).

What about the other issue? The song timer stops after 0.2 secs, then

Yes. It's just some sub-optimal code that picks up the track starting twice.
(BTW, switching off the squeezebox also triggers recording of the last track
played.
Mine is switched off automatically when I change sources on my amp, which is
why I've never tried fixing this)
