There has been much commentary about the unreliability of the alarm
function so I just thought I would report. Last night while I was asleep
the power went out at my house (I know because when I got up all the
electronic clocks in the house had to be reset.) Since my radio (FW

My radio works with WEP. It took me a little fiddling to get it going
because I am quite ignorant about these things. I had my router set to
hide the SSID, in addition to WEP and MAC filtering.
First I had to read the instructions to realize that I had to translate
my WEP password into hex. Once

There is at least one long thread of interplay between a couple of users
and developer(s) on ongoing "fixes" for the Radio alarm reliability.
Those changes were being incorporated into v7.4.2 and v7.5 of
Squeezecenter, and into the corresponding Radio firmware.

It looks like the current fonts for the Controller (and since the Radio

Japanese and Chinese characters.
There's an article on the "wiki" which suggests a method for adding

Seriously, all the Japanese (and Chinese) characters show up as squares.
:(
I just bought the SB radio and this is unexpected, I have a cheap $30
MP3 player which have no problem displaying Japanese characters. :(

Yep we are trying to get 7.4.2 out in the next day or so. And of
course, you could have been running 7.4.2 manually for months now, if
you were suffering from any bugs in 7.4.1.

One helpful method to identify which pin is which is to notice that the

As you can see from other posts in this thread, other users have had WEP

Feisty. Sadly, I totally agree with your sentiments.
After much digging/testing/tweaking etc, I have a radio that seems to

me nuts. Some can be eased with third party apps (kudos Erland et al)
but sadly this only adds weight

Thats why I don't get 'warm' with my Boom. Rather always use Radio or

But how? Quite simple
Go to:

Find the "connect to MySB.com" entry, select it.
Now on your Radio's Home Menu

This is changing the topic somewhat, but another downside with LCD is
