Hi

the idea of the red radio.
Anyone at Logitech know anything? (Please no: Logitech does not
comment on blabla)

Has anybody logged it as a bug ?
I can't do it as I can't play Clear Channel stations so could never

May 17, 2010 Update
When using MySqueezebox.com, with the default black screen, there has
been another development this weekend! WFLA 970 AM and KOA 850 AM
stopped working. I receive a message when SEARCHING that The station

Hello,
It is not the same problem at all, as my server does not go to sleep,
it is on 24h/7d.
It worked during a period without problems and triggered my playlist, I
have been happy for almost 1 month but since last firmware upgrade I
have the backup alarm every morning, it is even worse then
could you provide the server logs (along with radio-logs of the same
alarm) as well ?
Remember to activate alarm debug-logging (there is a setting for that
somewhere at the server-settings).
Maybe by comparing both we can see something useful ?

I know nothing about SB Radio, but:
1. Do you have enough free IP addresses in the DHCP pool?
2. Is your DHCP pool configured for dynamic IP assignments or you use
IP address reservations?
3. Do you have configured any MAC address access-list that may be
blocking your Radio?
4. Check logs on
1. yes, remember: with Ethernet it works fine

3. I do not use any MAC address filters, they are useless because
unsecure, I use WPA2-PSK

This just started last week. I have the snooze set at 10 minutes, the

One of my favorite radio stations was recently dropped by RadioTime from
use in MySB.com due to a change in their stream.
It now is an AAC in streamtheworld.
bpa mentioned that it might be possible to glean an alternate stream
from play on the iTouch. This station does have an app that plays
thanks for looking into this...I guessed it was something along those
lines. sure wish Logitech could address this, as the AAC format seems
to growing in usage. I'm back to my regular clock radio because this is
what i like to wake up to! Indeed, ridiculous.
will try with my SB Server...
Touch and Radio should be able to handle AAC by themselves without a
local server.
And any coming product based on the same platform
(SqueezePlay/SqueezeOS).
In hindsight it probably was due time to start developing a new player
platform a couple of years ago.
The old cpu has been around since

Mine exhibits the same behavior. Using 7.5 in a dark room, the screen
stays dark when you are
The 7.5 behavior is the one intended by the developers and is as
follows. When the screen brightness is greater than about 50% or so,
the screen will dim slightly after 30 seconds to help extend the life
of the backlight. It will go back to full brightness when a button is

This should wake your server and you get your favourite playing.

It's getting painfully obvious that it gets too complex to reliably
include anything that's dependent on the network or a server when
triggering the alarm in the Radio. I'm sure it's possible to do but
probably not within a reasonable time/cost with the limited number of
development resources
But if the user is instructed to simply don't configure any alarms on
the server(s).
If you do a completely independent simple alarm applet
The only conflict I see is that it tries to fire to many alarms your
proposed applet and the built in alarm (if configured).
