After reading this thread for a while, I broke down and got one.
Couldn't resist the price. Just got the unit today, and the conversion
to a Squeezebox was painless. Now my youngest son has his own
Squeezebox. I think that's the last room in the house (except garage and
bathrooms).

Add the battery to the Radio - I've spent several Saturdays lately
working in the yard, with my Radio nearby, on batteries, using MusicIP
to keep the music coming. The Radio is usually next to my bed, but
being able to unplug it and take it anywhere in the house is great.

Do you not use squeezeboxserver at all? There is an option in
squeezeboxserver to synchronize to mysqueezebox.com, and that has
caused similar issues with presets dissapearing and changing. I don't
know if mysqueezebox.com has a similar setting.

I'll second the suggestion to remove the Sync with Mysqueezebox.com
option. I disabled that setting long ago, and haven't lost a preset
since. I thought they had fixed the problem, but since I never use
MySB.com directly anyways, I never bothered to turn the option back on.

I think you can buy just remotes The remote in the Radio accessory
pack is identical to the Boom remote. The remote for the Touch will

magnet inside which allows it to stick to the indentation on the top

Go ahead and shut down (may have to remove power though)... it downloads
first before it performs install.
I've found this happens often on firmware upgrades - but, if you do
full turn-off, then turn-on before performing upgrade it works fine.

Is it possible to run v7.4.2 on your NAS? A lot of work has gone into
improving the alarm reliability, but that work has gone into the 7.4.2
(and 7.5?) versions of the software. v7.4.2 is quite stable overall,
and is being readied for the next release.

Can you give us some detail about how you store the album art? Also,
what type of music files (mp3, FLAC, etc). Is the album artwork
embedded in the tags, saved in the album folder as folder.jpg or
cover.jpg, saved in a separate folder, managed through iTunes?
