I have used the following configuration for sendmail with good results;
I would recommend mimicing it:
1. Move *all* the sendmail configuration files to /etc/mail. If
necessary, symlink /etc/sendmail.cf -> /etc/mail/sendmail.cf, but I
think this is a compile-time option for sendmail.
