Initially I used Win98 fdisk to set up the primary partition because I
wanted fat32 partition but no extended nor logical drives then install
Win98. When completed I start installing RH Linux using Disk Druid
allowing me to make logical drives such as Dos 16=>32 and linux native
boot, root, swap.
I prefer Supermicro Motherboards. I have been having good results with the
supermicro P6SBA with a PII 450 mhz chip. (I have not brought one up as
Linux yet tho)
The celeron is a sx vs a dx type chip for $50 bucks more I would buy the
PII. The P6SBA uses the slot type chip not the socket 7 type.

I think its because the name of the file should be rc.1 but I dont

It's too late; I've already frightened myself with emacs, mainly because it
was the only one I could remember. ;)

Gordon,
I'm not very sure about the low level details of ipchains, but I'll give
my input anyway. I hope I'm not shooting below your knowledge line here,
but...
Did you compare the results by using DENY instead of REJECT?
ipchains says REJECT to tell the caller that he is not allowed to
connect

As this does not seem to be a sparc-specific problem, I'm cross-posting
this message to redhat-list and sparc-list, please bear with me. :P
I've put together an external SCSI2 CDRom to connect to one of my Sparc
machines (specifically an IPX). It's a Plextor PX32TSi, a 32X intern
After the upgrade from RHL 5.2 to RHL 6.1 I noticed a change in the behaviour
of cpio with the "v" option:
Using command "find ... | cpio -oacv" I get
the list of processed files on RHL 5.2 with cpio-2.4.2-9
but NO output on RHL 6.1 with cpio-2.4.2-13
I've tried the "--verbose"
I just noticed that the "who" command will nto produce any output. What
could be the problem? I am using rh6.1.
