Cite recent purchase of an Aristo AM-535+ (aka. AM-535 VPX), with the VIA
VT82C580VP. AFAICT, there was no problem as such with the chipset itself,
except to mention the SAME CPU (PR150) in the Aristo mo'bo, must've been
running at least twice as hot as it was (
ess, this might be a pain in the side for us linux
folks. Food for thought.

Apparently, the root@ is not something the list mechanisms will
swallow, but it seems with this latest revision (4.05) of netscape, such
things are fixed...(well, if this hiits the list it is ;)

withstanding the fact it is a cyrix and running
2.1.90. (I have dropped back to stable releases to check this, don't
worry,..I went to devel releases looking for the same answer :) It works
so well, it's not worth foregoing just because of a menacing rodent
trouble. So it looks like the sk

the linux, simply edit /etc/fstab so it includes the windoze partition,
fstype msdos, and make a mountpoint like /dos and mount it, then copy :)
The only machine I haven't seen X run on yet, is the sun3/50 here, but
that's another tail :)

with linux, that meaning rebuilding the box from the ground up. Is there a
list of known currently available motherboard/cpu combinations that are
known to work smicky-dicky with linux? (if not, I well understand why ;^)
If anyone wants to shoot me testimonials in this regard, please
this in itself is just a part of the blindness. Such is the nature
of the computing industry, that it is always 'mobile'..progressing at a
rate determined by the aquisition of knowledge, and the advancements in
the technology it is bound by.

a combination of hardware not envisaged (or known of)by the linux team. I
doubt all problems will be resolved...but in my experience, it's perhaps
worth the wait for compatibility patches/fixes to come out, because we'd
all still rather use linuxwouldn't we?
net, it's the magic of ip_masq that takes all the grief out of
routing the packets out to the 'net...and back to the originating
machine, irrespective of what the assigned IP# given by the ISP to the
ppp0 interface is.
