The modules are kept in:
/lib/modules
depending on what is given in the "EXTRAVERSION" label in the kernel

How can I see a list of compiled and not compiled kernel modules? Is there a GUI admin
tool for this? I'm running RedHat 8.0.

In the source directory:
./configure --with-prefix=/where/you/want/apache --enable-module=so
--enable-ssl
make
make install
That will get you the following list of modules, automagically:
core.c
mod_access.c
mod_auth.c
mod_include.c
mod_log_config.c
mod_env.c
mod_setenvif.c

To add to my questions, is there an easy way to simply update an existing
apache install to a newer version Keeping all the same install
locations, and modules that were compiled in your previous version?
I am having a hard time trying to figure out this compiling stuff.
So I am hoping their
Hi there, I need to compile Apache again so that I can hopefully get
coldfusion mx to work with my version of redhat (V8)... At any rate, I am
pretty new to Linux, and I was wondering which Apache modules I should
include when I compile apache? I know it all depends on what I want my
server to be

I'm trying to install RRDTOOL as it is required by MailGraph which I am
trying to setup.
Now the system is Perl 5.6.0 but the RPM for RRDTOOL is installing into
/usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1 and hence the Perl scripts cannot find the modules.
How do I make Perl also look in /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1 in
Daniel,
Thanks for replying so quickly, but this doesn't seem to be the problem.
I had performed the steps:
make mrproper
make xconfig
make dep
make clean
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
and just tried the last two again to make sure everything worked (it
seemed to).

One not-quite-elegant method is to:
cd /usr/share/linux-...
make modules
make modules_install
As long as the config file as the same, and as long as 'make mrproper' hasn't
been run, this should work.
Daniel.

So you mean you have an entry in ~/.bashrc like
alias zipload='modprobe parport_pc; modprobe imm;'
Another possibility would be to add the modules to /etc/modules.conf or
/etc/rc.d/rc.local but I don't know the right sy
