Doug, May I ask what state you reside in? Here in CA the vets give IV DMSO very frequently the day before a race with no legal issues that I am aware of. As far as Yu Nan Bai Yao is concerned I have found that it is necessary to use 5 or 6 bottles for bleeding (5 - 6 times human dose).

Also take a look at stomach acid, often C. difficile infections are allowed to flourish because of low stomach acid. I have read also that they are more common in older people because stomach acid levels get lower as we age. So among other measures, increasing stomach acid might be helpful.

If you have taken a lot of antacids or acid blockers (from baking soda, to proton pump inhibitors to Zantac and the like) you likely have low stomach acid. Google home test for low stomach acid. I have read that around 80% of cases of acid reflux are actually caused by too little stomach acid.
