The flat wrench is called a cone wrench. You will need a pair of cone wrenches to properly tighten the bearinglocknuts on a typical bike wheel hub. Any good bike shop should have parts to rebuild the hub that you have. If they laugh at you head out the door and go findthe good shop in

For the Rahm, did you mean a sprocket or a hub? Not trying to be picky

I can add a bit of bike knowledge to this discussion. The part used in a
winch retriever is a bike hub. And as was previously mentioned, the
wrenches ideal for servicing a bike hub are call cone wrenches. They are
essentially just very thin wrenches. If somebody in your club doesn't have

"New Style Ford Solenoid" is probably a pretty meaningless phrase to most auto parts counter clerks. Try asking for a "LargeDuck in Blue Lederhosen."You still won't get what you want, but at least you'll get a laugh out of it.
Try finding a Cole Hersee 24037 solenoid. Better yet, get two

These must be available locally with the part number, so no shipping costs or

You got it right, the only thing different, is the hub on the web page

I drew up my own replacement hub for our old club retriever and had a machinist

Has anyone here ever heard of a continuous loop sailplane winch? The setup
would look something like this:
http://www.vvsss.com/ezone/clwinch.gif
Continuous loops are used with dog lure machines, which are virtually
identical to sailplane winches, and pulleys made for the purpose are
available
I remember an article in Model Builder or RCM many years ago where they did a setup like that. The major problem to solve was the extra line drag on the ground.
This was waaay back before Rahm was making winches, and before retrievers were in widespread use.
Doc
I guess the first problems that come to mind are:
-The tow lines getting tangled in the turnaround and the winch each time it
passes those points.
-Fixing line breaks...The length of the line is critical. I guess a strap
of some kind could be used from winch to turnaround and back that is far
