You may have some more options here. I've set this up for a client in
the following manner:
Go to Account | Properties | Transport | Send Mail and click the
Authentication button. It's possible that "Use POP before SMTP
authentication" is all you need. This works for most of my situations.

I have updated a few things recently, including TB! 1.60m, Netscape 7
and Opera 6.02. I have now taken Netscape off. My hitherto very
reliable machine is suddenly without warning totally shutting down and
rebooting ... no error message, just switch off, black screen,
