makes me wonder why the old strings were created
differently... or am I just getting demented?! I seem to recall that
in my earlier filters the string was in the style of John
Doe[EMAIL PROTECTED], NOT "John Doe"etc.

I haven't been using Read Filters, so I know little regarding the
way they work. I intend to delete the messages sent by those who
insist on using html on other lists, doing so by filtering on their
email address as sender.
The problem is that all messages for lists go
an incoming filter and delete the message (and mark it as
read, otherwise you have a "new" message in the Trash folder). This
