Agree, a well mastered recording can sound very good on even the
cheapest gear. I've heard some 128 kbps mp3 that has sounded better
than some of my 24/96 recordings. However, I've also heard some of my
24/96 sound better on different equipment.

This may sound ignorant, rambling, and even slightly off topic. I'll
make my point, which is about tweaking, eventually. First, I don't even

Garym,
Again, many thanks for thoughts. As you can probably tell from our
equipment, we are not going to be competing with or comparing our stuff

You shouldn't have to unplug/re-plug the drive to transfer your files.
That is an inconvenience that you don't need to live with. It's
probably best to get the Touch's built-in file sharing (Samba) sorted
out, but even if you don't manage that, you can probably use WinSCP to
transfer any music fil

I would agree with Gary, for lossy compressed internet radio streams
there would likely be little (if any) sound quality difference. Even
when listening to the very few 320k streams out there. For such higher
bitrate classical streams try a search for Linn or AVRO on your SB3, if
not done so alr

If you have a Sparc or x86 version it may be possible for you to build
