Never had a general cover art problem (some problems with 7.6.0 betas
due to malformed databases ,a fixed bug) there are some reported minor
bugs but in genral I had cover art since 2008 when i got my duet all
7.7.x and 7.8 are imo trouble free in that respect .

I'm bumping this thread, as I am having issues as well.
Started off on 7.5.2 with no issues. Upgraded my OS to Fedora 15,
which caused issues I really couldn't get resolved, so I upgraded my
Server to 7.6.2-33593 which seems to function OK, except it can't seem
to handle an any sort of embedded

Any more news/updates re. the cover art problem with 7.6.1 and Touch? I
have cover art on my web interface (using Mac OSX latest non-Lion
version and iTunes Lossless, plus iTunes and Cover Scout for artwork)
but not on my Touch, just empty squares. Plus the one Controller I had
did not display
I had the same problem with 7.6.1 - scanning after upgrading failed. Art
covers around 70% and server crashed. I have over 12000 music files and
1500 covers. I downgraded to 7.5.4 and it was OK.
- I checked all the cover jpgs - they are all non-progressive.
- I hidden several folders (with .),
Installed 7.6.1, and after scanning had finished, there was no music in
my library. Going back to 7.5.5 once again...

Currently, v33033 doesn't solve it. Each nightly, I install, clean
up from the PreferencePane, then do a full rescan from the Settings
web interface.
Just to report that this morning's Beta 7.6.1 r32969 has brought all of
the missing artwork back on my system with Clear Library and Rescan
Everything.
No other changes were needed and as far as I can tell, everything is
back to normal on Squeezebox Server under Windows XP Pro using

drive every few days, and it always picks up the covers without having

With the latest update I found that I needed to so
attrib -s -h *.jpg /s
in order to unhide all of the image files and get the artwork back.

Windows has several attributes per file. One of them is hidden,
which means that Windows Explorer and other programs won't show these
files to you by default. This

Yes, looks like this has been fixed with v7.6.1-r32929. I was seeing
the same problem while building my testcase for the missing cover art
when
I had the same problem with the cover artwork. I delete the cache folder
and restart the scan again. Now it works fine for me...:-)

Phhh, after x hours of manually deleting embedded cover art on
14t.000 songs the 7.6.0 cover art now works. Thus, I can not do any

Guys - I've identified the issue which lead to WMP downloaded files (and
other hidden artwork) no longer being recognized. This issue should be
fixed in r32931 - which should be available from the nightly downloads
shortly.

Are you using enbedded artwork? I think that it is preferred to have
standalone artwork files well embedded should stil work.

The Touch worked fine until I updated it last night. Mac-iTunes.
Squeezebox server set to take cover art from iTunes. Rescanned, reset,
resigned to no cover art! Actually a small amount still shows up-iTunes
purchases and bizarrely Animals by Pink Floyd.

To all - Swiftie found out that his problem was that much of his artwork
were downloaded by WMP and it apparently set the hidden file attribute.
It appears that the 7.6 code changes can't handle this.

artwork for brand new albums. It will not (and never did) pick up
changes to the artwork of existing

A word of general advice; artwork as PNG files and music as WAV files is
not and never has been a great idea. Better (much better) to use FLAC
for music and jpg (or embedded) for artwork.

information to help narrow down the problems.

I have been running 7.5.x successfully for quite some time.
I upgraded to the official 7.6 release today, deleted cache and did a
full rescan of hdd.
I can see ca 10% of the cover art of my 1200+ wav albums with jpg
coverart (folder.jpg).
Some covers are shown perfect (like on 7.5.x).
