I've added j2re1.4.2_08 from java.com and jre1.5.0_02 from Sun.
These both install as self extracting shell archives and not as pkgadd's and

It doesn't matter... I trussed the jvmsetup I've fixed it now...

I liked the simple idea of defining a range, then in cell A1 simply
putting the result of the range. Assuming that column 'D' is defined
as a named range of balance :
=sum(balance)
will sum all rows within the range. this can handle blank rows,

No, you use a variant of similar menu options you'd use in Excel--copy

The easiest way is to define a style. Styles in OOo are very powerful
and one of its best features. For more information look at :

Don't believe there is such a button. However (as you are probably
aware) you can load the document into the browser, keep it open in
OOo, then when you've made changes and saved simply reload the page in
the browser (instead of opening a browser window/tab each time).

When you are installing these versions are you using the same

Try the new folder approach (to get a completely new install) and post

The learning curve is high, but yes you can. I have a few
recommendations for links:
For the person who wants to know it all, it is in the Developer's Guide.
It is cryptic at times, but after you get the hang of it, it is not so
bad. The problem is getting the hang of it.
