Hi all,
I have two installs of Open Office working very well ... but this third
one is driving me nuts. Everything except Writer seems to run
perfectly. Writer will try to open, I will get the OpenOffice.org title
bar across the top of my screen ... and sometimes I even get one ruler!

Hello.
I just discovered that in Writer 2.0.2 when I extend table by clicking
Table\Insert Column column width changes in such a way that table is not
extended. This is different from how Word behaves and IMO
counterintuitive.
Is that by design or I should file issue?
Thanks.

I find it most infuriating if I type something like
1 new paragraph
and press OOo automatically assumes I want a numbered list.
(How) can I switch this off? If I wanted a numbered list I'd have said
so - it's almost as frustrating as Word and it was to get away from Word
that I started

You can uncheck "while typing" from /Format/AutoFormat. I agree that
"toggle" functions are bad: better to say "on" and "off" or similar or
have separate buttons.
I also uncheck all the AutoCorrection features because my technical
material doesn't conform the the rules and gets mashed.

I am getting ready to uninstall openoffice from my computer and install
MSOffice
I really wanted to give your program a chance but it is frustrating me to no
end.
The auto format tool is difficult at best to understand. There is no clear
way to turn it off (I understand that somehow under autoform
Can a cell in one table refer to a cell in another table? I would like to
enter a single date in a Writer document and have it appear in multiple
tables within the document?
Am I correct in stating that Mail Merge will only work with Writer and not
Calc?
I'm trying to find the best way to ent

After you have pasted each image,
OOo 2.0.2 on Windows XP SP2
When I paste images into a word processing document, by default they are
anchored to the paragraph. How can I change that to have it anchor to
the character instead?
Thanks.
