I've run into a weird problem. I have Photo libraries on an external
hard drive.
Now (after updating Monterey) when I try to open them I get a strange
message.
Unsupported Library
The library “2021.photoslibrary” is from a newer version of Photos.
Please upgrade

Hi Daniel, thanks for that. Will see what we can do to repair any disk
error. Given the previous disk failure (likely caused by the attempt
to copy the Photos library to it) I am not positive about success in
this. But I have CCC and hopeful that if I can rescue the disk
firstly, then hopefully
an external photo library on an external drive, it’s always
a good idea to have a second drive as well, and do a clone or backup of
external disk1 to external disk2. That way you’re covering all bases should
something go wrong. As then the photos are stored in more then one place.

First off, I do not use Apple’s photo app and I am still at El
Capitan (the latest OSX THIS machine can run) – so all I can offer
is a more general thought/approach – rather than hands
just by copying files & folders.
You might need to actually point the Photos app to its new library location or
it might find it itself – as I say, I don’t use Photos myself – but I’m sure
that you can confirm/check this.

Looks like the way now to import individual images from iPhoto.
But Photos in Catalina still imports images from iPhone too.
The only issue is that the thumbnails are greyed out so they are difficult to

I use the titles to filter my Smart Folders.
So how can I do that if I can only enter a title once it is in the Smart Folder

used exclusively for the Photos library and nothing else currently. The Time
Machine Backup of Joanne’s MBP (with External drive included in the backup) is

When I take a photo from our original photo library it works ok but all the
photos we transferred from iPhoto library we get the name changed to
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_THUMB, when placed into toast, MAYBE WE TRANSFERRED THE

I cannot transfer photos from a 2017 Samsung Galaxy A7 mobile phone to my late
2012 iMac. This is the first attempt at downloading, so I don’t know if it is
High Sierra thing.
Any ideas for resolving the problem?
