Just checked Ronni - no, the iBook Address Book addition wasn't
appearing in Contacts in the online MobileMe account.
I've just gone through all the Reset Sync Data and it does appear to
have fixed the problem, so thanks heaps for that suggestion. I should
have thought of it myself
I have a MBP and a G4 iBook both running latest OS, and each set up
with a MobileMe account (the same one), and each set to sync contacts.
If however I add a contact on the iBook, and Sync the iBook, and then
sync the MBP as well, I just don't see the added contact in Address
Book from

I've answered my own question.
Exported contacts to a file saved on the desktop called Contacts Export.txt
and then imported that file into Address Book.

How do you plan to rebuild all your preferences ?
I would have thought a copy out of User's only by Superduper to a backup
and then copy back afterwards would fix it all for you .

pick them up when I start typing in in the same way as it does for
names. All my companies also have Nicknames, the same as the

You can export your selected calander out as a specific ical file and
transfer that to the new computer. Open ical on the new computer and

chuck preferences to trash and let the application build new
preferences when it next opens. What's wrong with just trashing Address

May be a quick fix for the meantime is to put the Company name in the Last
Name field in address book, then sync with your phone. Not the most elegant
way (or correct) of using an address book, but at least the company name
will now appear

I loaded MacOS 10.2 yesterday with nary a hitch, and fired up Mail last
night. It handled all my mail easily, with the exception of an IMAP
account I keep
behaviour (dates, spelling).
To import contacts from Entourage, just drag the contacts into a folder
on the desktop. They'll be .vcf files which can then just be dragged
into the Address Book.
