Hi,
This is off topic, so delete if you don't want to read.
I have been using Windows Exchange 5.5 for serving pop3 email and it is time
to move on. Too many problems and licensing for Exchange 2003 is too
expensive.
I am looking for suggestions for a Windows based email server
I ran MDaemon for years, it is a great product, and yes hands down
better than exchange.

I use surgemail, runs on linux, but will also run on windows and mac
os x. Very reasonable license, and extremely robust. Friends/Spam
feature has eliminated all of my spam. Handles all of my clients. Can
also do load balancing and clustering, so will grow with you to any
size.

One last thing, I have found anything that I could move from windows
to linux, which is one of the main reasons I chose surgemail, is a big
plus.

Hi Steve,
I also used MDaemon for years. Easy to manage and worked great.
But because I wanted to administer this kind of stuff even less, earlier this
year I moved everything to a hosted solution with http://www.webmail.us/ They
do POP and IMAP of course but is not a direct Exchange
Forgot to send the link to it, and here is the prices. Much cheaper
than mdaemon, and I have used it now for about 2 years, they have good
email support. Installation on fedora or cent os, or major distro is
easier than witango. Super simple.

Rumor has it that Kerio is a pretty good substitute for Exchange and
you can port your settings and accounts over.

You're right Steve, tabs will fail if the text just before the tab
overruns a tab stop, which will force you into the next tab stop.
What you can do is use spaces. Set up a local variable that contains
nothing but 80 spaces. Then, to output a column of text, use:
@LEFT STR=@VAR MYVAR@VAR

Hi,
the use will be very simple, you just need to remove the sql part and
imitate the array that was generated with the query.
You only have to setup 2 paths (templatedir batchdir) at the top
I've found REGEX to be kind of a cumbersome tag to work with. Something I found that
was quite a bit easier to work with, was to use the @SCRIPT tag to do server side
javascript regex matching. I like the javascript regex matching much more.

If you want to use a regular expression to validate it with your taf file, you can use:
@REGEX EXPR=^[_a-zA-Z0-9-]+(\.[_a-zA-Z0-9-]+)*@[a-zA-Z0-9-]+(\.[a-zA-Z0-9-]+)*$
STR=@ARG email TYPE=E
The only advantage this offers is the ability to block invalid characters.

Hey Dan,
I use a simple if command to validate:
@IF EXPR=@ARG email contains '@' and @ARG email contains '.'
Valid
@ELSE
Not Valid
