Title: RE: [smartBridges] We've just about had it
Received 2 new APPOs and 6 new ABTs last week....
Installed one of the APPOs two days ago and switched an existing backhaul link to it - 85% RSSI and 90% LQ
Today it dropped to 12% LQ then to 0% then to 12% - had to move the backhaul back to the original radio (its on the same tower), now I have a another tower climb to take the new one down.
Installed one of the new ABTs today - from the wireless side, all looks good - from the ethernet side, all the lights are on but no one is home - dead ethernet. Cust was very impressed when I told him I would have to replace the radio next Monday.

As a new WISP competing with cable, dsl and satellite, I'm afraid my reputation for reliable wireless service is being ruined - I've got to find some reliable outdoor 2.4 equipment even if I have to pay more for it. sB is the only 2.4 brand I have any experience with. If anyone has any suggestions for equipment that is working and will work reliably please contact me off list.

I agree, however on the APPO side I haven't seen any problems but really I haven't bought many new ones lately, I would hope SB would have top quality products still and I hope they do still, however ecomms out of stock still :(

I have to second Shawn's comments. When I first started using SB equipment
I was thoroughly amazed and impressed with how well it worked. Since that
time (last October) I have seen the quality slowly degrade to where I am
afraid to deploy anything from SB. And when I do, I put it up, cross my
fingers, knock on wood, and pray it doesn't fail.

Please. Heed Shawn's request.  Get back to the basics, stop trying to be
all things to everyone and trying to add in each new feature that is
requested, and make your product the tremendous success that it was in the
beginning. It's admirable that you want to do what your customers want
with regards to new features, but not at the expense of reliability and
performance....

...and our customers.
