I have a project where the local authority requires us to put sprinklers in a concealed space. The building is masonry walls and bar joist construction (typical school). However, per the local AHJ definition of combustible spaces, we are required to provide upright sprinklers in the concealed spaces. Since this would classify as a non-combustible space in any other part of the country, would it be permissible to install the system utilizing CPVC piping? If the space above the ceiling is considered an exposed installation, then it meets all of the requirements required for a blazemaster installation. So, would you do this? I have put a call into tech services, but nothing back yet.
