I did a similar project a couple of years ago. We had two areas: one with sprinklers about 15 ft above the partitions and the other area about 2 ft. . The 15 ft area I just ignored the partitions. In the 2 ft space, we had so many heads because of former walls, etc. that there are two sprinklers over most compartments. It becomes a judgement call. Without looking at it personally, I would hesitate to make a call, but at 5'-6", all things being equal, ignoring the partitions might be reasonable.
