A-ha! What Roland said.

If you think about it, putting that in there in the first place didn't
make sense. If we don't have to consider sprinklers and standpipes
concurrently in sizing the water supply capacity, why would we calculate
them that way? It's not congruent. Once the Class I standpipe is put
to use, the functionality of the sprinkler system becomes secondary to
the firefighting operation and the safety of responders. Plus, you've
got another water supply connected through the FDC so the automatic one
on which the calc's were based isn't the only criterion after that.

Inside hose allowance is for cabinets, NOT a Class I standpipe system.
A common misapplication ...

NFPA 13, 2007 section A.11.2.3.1.8 (9). Doesn't it appear to require
inside hose allowance to be added to the sprinkler demand at the point
of connection?

WHat does the presence of the 2-1/2 have to do with this issue (unless
you are supply the standpipe supply per 14)? The sprinkler calc does
not include an inside hose demand for hose connections on a standpipe.
