Once upon a time dbraun126 shaped the electrons to say... > Last October I got an e-mail Service Announcement from TIVO saying > don't be concerned about the coming digital transition (pasted > below):
The digital transition applies ONLY to broadcast OTA television, it has nothing at all to do with cable or satellite. So this doesn't apply to you at all if you're using Comcast. Nothing changes at all. > Her TIVO has 2 tuners and she subscribes to several "season passes" > on multiple channels. Does this mean the box Comcast gave us will > have to be manually pre-tuned to each event in order to record it > now? What box from Comcast? Anything Comcast gave you isn't related to the digital transition - again, broadcast - but may be related to changes their making in their network. If they've started moving channels from their analog tier to a digital tier and now require the use of a cable box (perhaps confusion, but not related to the 'digital transition'), then that could change how her TiVo works. If she has the Series2DT then she can only use both tuners on analog cable channels, while using a cable box for digital channels - but only one at a time. The S2DT can record two analog or one digital and one analog channel at a time, but not two digital channels. For that you need the Series3, TiVo HD, or TiVo HD XL. -MZ -- megazone-at-megazone.org http://www.MegaZone.org/ Gweep, Geek, Human, me. http://www.GizmoLovers.com/ http://www.Eyrie-Productions.com/ -><- Hail Eris "A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men" 508-852-2171
