All very interesting conversation. As an employer who is and has been looking for help, I'm interested in these opinions.
I still think Chris Wood put it best in his first reply. There are several factors. That said I may look into trying a posting soon with detailed descriptions of what we consider junior, mid-level and senior, and then maybe listing ranges for each. I'm somewhat concerned about employees knowing too much about each other's pay, but we pay well, so I guess it shouldn't be a huge problem. Next, I'd like to see a conversation about interviewing. We've been struggling finding the right people.
