Like all of you I share some inherent distrust of the honor code office
and for some reason (although I can't put my finger on why, since
I've never had any contact with them) I actually feel a little anger
towards them. But, I hope we all really understand, believe in, and
support the honor CODE. I'm working on this personally - I
don't support it enough. Although I would really rather not shave
everyday (so I don't) I think the university is trying to do a great
thing with the honor code, giving us a clean campus and a clean
learning environment. Being able to have the Spirit with you while you
study and learn is a rare pleasure. Now, how the honor code is enforced is another matter. We've probably all been in a similar situation on our missions. How many times have investigators or members gotten offended by unskilled but usually well-meaning leaders? We've all given the line that the church is true while the members aren't perfect and that they should just believe in the church. Same here. We need to support the honor code while putting up with and if possible improving the honor code office. Devin Pratt PS-I'm actually an honor code terminator. I may look like a regular student on the outside, but on the inside I'm a machine that's impervious to temptation and all reasoning with. Bwah ha ha!! |
