I would love to hear some views on the decline of the dance music media in Europe. It's not only the UK that is experiencing this. Two weeks ago, Bassic Groove, the leading Dutch dance magazine, announced it had gone bust, restylings everywhere, content moving from music to 'lifestyle', etc. What are the main reasons behind this? Some clues: The fallback in the music industry => less advertisements The availability of much 'magazine' info on the net, usually a lot faster than the paper variant and sometimes a lot more elaborate and FREE! In some European countries the ban on tobacco ads caused serious damage. The (forced) switch to more 'lifestyle' oriented content while there's already quite a lot of that (sort of magazines) around + turning away the music lovers Youngsters have more things they want to spend their money on; magazines don't really take up the primary spot in their top 10... What do you think weighs most on the decline of the paper dance magz? John
