The pursuit of this certification is so difficult that you will definitely want
to clear all of these thoughts first. In my opinion, if you were caught up in
these thoughts as you are attempting to pass, you have BIG problems.

If you determine that his certification is no longer worth it to you
personally, then by all means, forget it. Should you see its worth, then NEVER
think about any of these thoughts again, and enjoy the pursuit!

That is my two cents.

Anthony,

I believe this too.

However my concern goes back to the NT4.0 days. Yes the much desired MCSE.
Market quickly became saturated and salaries went down.

Today I can't even find one person who has the most recent MCSE, they all put
it on their CV but when asked they all confess it's NT4.0. LOL

I have no doubt that CCIE's will always be in demand. I am just weighing up
risk vs.reward in terms of actual certification.

I have consulted for 5 years and have never been asked to produce my
certifications. I am sure this is different in the US and some other countries?

then theirs the stories of CCIE's being interviewed who obviously dont make the
grade and this drags down the accreditation. and of course then theres the
sites that have the exams almost to a tee, sold for a few hundred dollars. Are
the sites info correect, you bet. 3 engineers i waorked with who certified used
the material.

So the question/s really are why all of a sudden is there a massive
acceleration this year compared to other years then? Pretty sure I read
somewhere that the avg was 1200ish? Salaries have been going down for years
(not just in the recession) yet more people are being accredited.

Sorry to sound like Dr Doom and Gloom but I kinda feel like I need to look past
the # first.

Thanks for the replies.

Scott

Many of the Cisco peeps at Cisco Live 2011 were discussing how there is NO

truly believe them.

Morning Guys n Gals,

Anyone know how many candidates succesfully passed the CCIE R&S this year so
far?

Or anyone want to have a fairly educated guess. Want to compare avg's over the
years. Seems to me this was a very accelerated year.

Just trying to guage if the market is becoming a little flooded.

Thanks in advance.

Scott
