Wow...

However how much does it cost to rent a place where you are?

My place (2BR apartment) is over $2kAU a month.  Mine is cheap too.  I
also get taxed about 35% of what I earn.  Housing in USA is quite
cheap (compared to where I am anyway).  A cursory look on a real
estate website shows 4BR houses with backyards and swimming pools for
less than what Im paying in some places.
