Personally I think someone perusing a CCIE (or any other high level
certification for that matter) should do it because they want to do it and
are up to the challenge.
Any other benefits such as pay should come after the fact.

As for things like deciding what vendor to certify with, if you use Cisco &
Juniper, why not pursue both down the road.

Subject: Re: [OSL | CCIE_RS] How many certified in 2011?

these days i am seeing lot of people worrying about " statistics " of ccie .
i thing this act of acquiring info is an attempt to "evaluate" value of ccie

some worry about passing rate , i OMG nearly 200 ccie's in one month ...

some worry about age of earing certificate ....i am too young ..i am too old
?

some worry about cisco market share compared to juniper ..should i go for
ccie or jncie ?

some worried a lot about OEQ's .

some worry about locations ...oh no brussels have good pass rate compared to
dubai ..
i have seen people skipping banglore and went to dubai ......

some worry about cheet sites

some worry about blue print chages

some worry about unsubsribe mails ....

what i am saying is stop them all . first get ccie , feel not good enough go
for CCDE ..CCA .....
