pistols at dawn. Yes there are still horrible acts of violence and
sensless murder but I think someone is more willing to sue over a
poached horse rather than "settle it like men".

There will be as least many as before, if not a lot more. Most murders
for
instance are not rational and carefully planned, but rather are
impulsive
acts. If that sort of execution actually worked, then why was the murder
rate actually higher in the 19th century than it is now?
