Add the extra day, and arrive alive. > > Larry > AMEN: I recently went to Idaho to fly wings. 3 hours over, one hour that day, Very little sleep due to strange bed, stay up late visiting, roosters at dawn, grandfather clock chiming every 15 minutes, etc. 2 more hours of wings including the instrument & forced landing stuff the following day, then 3 hours home. When I was 17 or 27 I would of come home and partied a bit. However at my present level of aged decrepitude, I was so tired that when I approached my fuel stop I couldn't figure my entry angle into the traffic pattern. I knew the runway, I knew my heading, but I couldn't make the mental calculation. I solved it by overflying the field well above TPA and looking. (I was actually on the 45 heading approaching the field<G>) I realized that I was dangerously tired, and I'll use this knowledge to reduce the size of what I'll put on my plate in the future.
