Come on Jon! These are "AIR"planes. It'd take a week or longer to drive
the thing back to NC. Additionally, it'd take 3 more days to get out to
Utah. Then, a day to dismantle and load. We're talking two weeks here.
It's a maximum 4 days flying time, and that's if you take your time. I'd
never advocate anything like flying in minimal conditions, but having
lived
out here for all my life, I will attest to the fact that not only can you
fly in the winter, your airplane will perform like nothing you've seen in
summer. The worst stretch of this flight would be from Utah to Ft.
Collins,
Colo. That'd take 4.5 hours, plus a 1 hour fueling stop say in Rawlins,
Wy. As most pilots know, the weather can generally be checked, prior to
lift off. A severe clear in Wyoming will generally give you 125 mph
ground
speed, cause you'll always have a tail wind. In my mind, foolish to not
fly
it, but make certain you have a few extra days to wait out any bad
weather.
