There seems to have been a little confusion on what I said about an E version of Coupe Capers,,,, I am not suggesting that the print version be done away with, only make it an option. There are far too many Coupers who do not have computers or Internet access and you can't cut them out. The advantage here is that you get it quickly and probably more regularly (I've missed a few issues over the years) and it would reduce the cost (no postage & no printing cost), plus it would be far easier to archive, and index and would allow far better graphics. My point in my little rant is that Skip is close minded to anything he didn't invent or is able to control such as the net. It was obvious reading his front page articles in the terms he used he doesn't understand much about the net. He has been offered assistance by myself years ago, and by Tom and several others more recently in developing a web page, but to date he has shunned all offers. The fact that Skip subscribed to this mail list for a short period of time and then unsubscribed I feel is quite significant, and seems to be a point no one has noticed or wants to address.
My conclusion is that I must be the lone ranger here in not seeing Skip as the wonderful and altruistic individual he apparently is, and the outstanding publication that Coupe Capers is. Obviously if there were room for improvement it would have been done or someone would have voiced at least a slight bit of dissatisfaction with things. In some cases this is how improvement is instituted. But when something is as good as it can possibly be don't change it. You know "If it ain't broke ,,, don't fix it".
Last I feel as I have from the start the existing WEB pages and this mail list provide an immediate valuable service and are a valuable resource which Skip has tried to degrade. Overall I feel that Coupe Capers is not bad but there is much room for improvement and I feel he is doing a disservice to members who are not on the Internet in implying that there is nothing useful or legitimate on the Net for Coupers. If he really feels that way then why not get involved and improve it.
