C'mon Chip,

You are the King of talking up Canon or what I prefer to call
the Prince of Gloom when it comes to non-Canon lenses.
Yes the Canon lenses are excellent but I suggest you check out 
the reports before you say the Sigma 15-30 is only adequate.
Quite to the contrary it gives the big boys a run for their 
money. Very very very sharp. Blows the EF 17-40F4 away.
But alas, poor Chip, the lens
is neither beige nor expensive, hence you assume it is not 
sharp. Sometimes, good things do not have to be expensive.
