I want to thank everyone on the Finale list who recommended the Ricoh 2610
Laser Printer. (This is the black-only laser that prints up to 11x17 paper
that is available for $530 - $580). I just helped my wife pick it out for
me for my Christmas gift - it's great!.

I had been putting off reprinting a revised 52 page 11x17 score that I need
very soon. The first time I printed it I sat up all night cutting and
pasting together 8 1/2 x 11 pages individually, then headed off to a large
xerox machine. Now I'll be able to make a better looking score in a few
short minutes.

One question - the paper tray will go a little wider than 11 inches. Has
anyone tried any larger dimensions for parts?

The rest totally off topic - it's just funny how things works out sometimes:

Last year, I was playing trombone on the same 7 service, 3 1/2 day,
after-Christmas church gig I had played for several years (big, affluent
church, heavy Elizabethan costume). The gig pays very well, but has had one
big problem - it always got very hot, and I have had a lot of problems with
heat. Last year was an unusually warm winter, and the antique heating and
cooling system couldn't deal with it. I roasted and suffered, and swore I
wouldn't play the gig again.

But this year I was doing a little better with heat tolerance, had heard it
would be a cold winter, decided I would give it one more chance.
Particularly, after reading on this list about that great Ricoh printer, I
decided I would play the gig and use the money to pay for part of the
printer. Turns out - I got a good price on the printer ($558, including
shipping, at PCNation), the gig paid more than I remembered ($560 - two
bucks more than the printer!) and - guess what? Over the summer, the church
had spent a million and a half bucks to update things, including replacing
the heating and cooling system! The second day of the show, while it was
60-plus degrees outside, and would have gotten 85 inside normally, the AC
was CHILLIN!

The gig was tiring, but actually fun, (good snacks in between services!) and
I broke even on a great printer in the deal. And I owe it all to you guys!
