Hi Bob, It is important to try to see exactly what it happening with the calls. This can be via the Trace function in the TVA and the SMDR in the KSU.
I presume the outdial numbers begin with 9, so it would be significant to check all of the co lines. If one of the outgoing lines is not working or is intermittent, then the notification calls would try to use the line anyway and not go out. If the outdial numbers use a co group code instead of 9, then check all the cos in the groups as well. Another problem would be if one TVA port was bad. The ports used for outdial can be specified but I think it starts with a higher port (not sure about that) There is a port monitor in the tva as well, you can try connecting to the vm from multiple phones and see if you can get through on all ports. One way to trouble shoot is to try to do the outdialing manually. First you can just check from any extension to make sure the numbers are in properly, I assume that works unless the recently changed something. Next you can convert one of the TVA ports back to normal phone useage (in the TDE software) and plug a phone in and see if you can dial out ok. If ports were added to the TVA and the extensions used previously had other features they might cause conflicts, a station clear could help (*790) then put the port back to voicemail use. See if anything else had changed recently. Often there are other problems that the customer thinks has no relationship. i.e. did they switch providers? was there a power outage? was a plumber or electrician working on something else in the phone closet and bumped the wires?
