During a Russian Lace workshop a while back as part of the tutor's kit we received a circle of clear plastic tube, fitted together to make a circle. This worked a treat in raising the threads away from the pins as one works around braid pieces while constantly turning the cookie pillow. It lives in my 'gadget' bag.

I wonder what experience others have had using the plastic green 'horseshoe' intended to raise threads a bit to avoid catching on exposed pins? I confess I own one but have never used it.
