Tonight on the programme, Ill have a special report on Humberside Polices efforts to extradite a man from Australia for a murder eighteen years ago! Its an extraordinary tale! Plus Ill be speaking exclusively to the verger of Lincolnshire Cathedral to ask what he thinks about the new Da Vinci Code film. Ill have the latest on the speculation surrounding Peter Taylors future as Hull City Manager and my special guest tonight is an incredible comic actor. Hes been in so many iconic British sitcoms like Bottom, The Young Ones and hes now taking the hit TV show, The New Statesman on the road. Well be talking to him ahead of his new tour. I hope you can join me then. Jungle Book Well, last week I launched a competition to win tickets to see the stage show of The Jungle Book at Grimsby Auditorium. A great prize for a family with children to help them through the half term week! And what a great show it is, with wonderful music. Well, the question we posed was what was the name of the bear in The Jungle Book. And of course, one of my favourite Disney characters is Baloo the bear. Its [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yesterday on the programme, we were talking about the amazing tornado that hit south Lincolnshire. Well, we had an amazing response from people sending in pictures of the tornado on their digital cameras or phones, so thank you very much for those. If, when youre out and about, and you see something that you think we should take a look at, then send it in to us. It could be something funny or something serious, but whatever it is, take a picture of it and let me take a look at it. You never know, but we might be able to use it on the programme. Holidays I know that this is the start of the holiday season and its just getting underway. Have you got your holiday booked yet? Its interesting to see that two thousand British tourists had to put their holidays on hold last night after the runway of Corfu airport was closed. Can you believe that? Ten flights, six from this country, were diverted to other airports in Greece and Italy when the tarmac started to melt. The runway had recently undergone some repairs the day before, but with the rising temperatures it had got too hot! Thats in Greece! Can you believe that? And the rising temperatures in Corfu had made the airport runway start to melt. So, thats one of those stories that you just cant make up! Hot weather in Corfu! Workers Middlescent thats the new catchphrase. If you hate the boss and you feel bored and frustrated at work and want a new start, but darent try to find what you want, then youre not alone. Youre suffering from middlescence. The malaise is similar to adolescence, except that it affects grown ups. Researchers in the US have given the name to the negative feelings, which descend on millions of workers aged between thirty-five and fifty-four. Middlescence, there you are. I think thats what Ive got! You feel like youre burnt out, disappointed with your career, lengthening horizons, career bottle-neck and work life tension. Im sure that my Mum and Dad, and my grandparents didnt have middlescence, but if youre aged between thirty-five and fifty-four, then you may well be suffering from it. National Treasures The government launched its online poll to find the essential icons of Englishness. Many country folk were eager to vote for fox hunting. Strangely their choice featured in neither the first list of the twelve icons issued earlier this year, or in the supplementary twenty-one, which came out last week. So what are the top National Treasures? Well, Stonehenge and Punch and Judy at number two (can you believe that?). In there as well is a cup of tea, the FA Cup, Alice in Wonderland, the Routemaster double decker bus and also the Angel of the North sculpture. Those were the original ones. The latest ones include the flag of St George, the Lindesfarne Gospels, Notting Hill carnival, Brick Lane in East London, Morris dancing and also the mini skirt and York Minster. Your suggestions for typical icons of Englishness, then do get in touch! Michelle I think I mentioned this two or three days back. Ive had several emails asking if we could have Michelle Dewberry on the programme again. She seems to be a huge hit, quite understandably. If you were watching The Apprentice, then Im sure you will have become a huge fan of hers. Well, we have asked Michelle that next time she comes up here to visit her Mum, that she comes into the studio to see us. So Ill keep you posted on that one.
