Hello, its Peter here and welcome to Thursdays Levy Letter. I hope your day is going well and I hope youll be able to join me tonight on BBC One at 6.30pm for all the days news and also tonight, Paul will have the forecast. And if youve been watching The Apprentice over the last few weeks, then youll know that Hull girl and former Sydney Smith pupil, Michelle Dewberry is the winner and she gets the job with Sir Alan Sugar. Ill be talking to Michelle tonight on the programme at the usual time of half past six.
Also tonight, Ill be looking at the issue of car parking in one South Lincolnshire town. Car parking is at such a premium and is so expensive that the businesses of Holbeach are worried that their customers are going elsewhere to shop. Theyre worried their businesses will fold without a review of car parking in the town. Ill have more on that later. Plus Ill be introducing the issue thats affecting a great many grandparents across the country. Well have the tragic story of one local grandmother, whos been prevented from seeing her grandchildren for six years. As families split up and custody battles ensue, grandparents currently have no right to have access to their grandchildren if their children or son or daughter in law does not allow it. Ill have more on this story tonight at six thirty. Pictures Dont forget if youve got a photograph or a picture that youd like to send in for the programme to use on the Big Screen, then send it to me. Its the usual address of [EMAIL PROTECTED] How To Tell If A Man Will Make A Good Dad Charming chat-up lines and an armful of flowers may be a waste of time when it comes to wooing the perfect woman, as the fairer sex can label a man as a lothario or a doting Dad in one glance, according to the experts. Research shows that men with masculine faces are deemed as short term prospects rather than potential husbands. Candidates picked for long-term commitments, on the other hand, were men, who appeared to have an affection for children. Researchers think that the ability is part of a subconscious radar a woman uses to search for her soul mate. So there we are. Women are clever when it comes to finding the perfect soul mate and a father for her children. Events Dont forget if youve got a charity event thats coming up and youd like a mention in the Levy Letter, then do give me the details and let me know what it is and where it is. I will try and give you a plug in the Levy Letter one day. There are several in already and we will include them over the next few weeks. Just a reminder that if youre in Lincolnshire in July, Paul and I will be there to do the big switch on of the event of the year the Mablethorpe Lights! Its on a Sunday night and Ill give you all the details a little nearer the time. If you can make it along to Mablethorpe, then I look forward to seeing you there. Parking Spot We all like to have our own parking spot or somewhere where we can leave our car. Not all of us are lucky enough to have a parking space that goes with a flat, like Ive got, but at first glance, a central London property thats on sale for £80,000 seems like a bargain. Central London property for £80,000! But this is not the price of a bijoux studio flat, but just a parking space! The tarmac plot in Knightsbridge measures just one hundred square feet and is barely big enough for an average sized car and since its below ground, it doesnt have much of a view either. But its on the market with a lease at £80,000! Can you believe that? Talking of money, Ive been looking at houses that have been sold in the first three months of this year at over two million pounds, which of course narrows it right down. Most of them have been in central London, but two or three have been sold in Yorkshire. So were on the top ten list of properties sold for over two million pounds. Autobiography If there are any publishers out there and they would like to publish my autobiography, then I would be happy to write it. The only reason I say that is, even I reckon my life might have a little more stories to tell, than Chantelles. Five months ago, wed never heard of her. Five months later, well, what had she done? Shed won Celebrity Big Brother. And shes just signed a deal for three hundred thousand pounds to write her biography. She was the non celebrity of course in Big Brother, but shes only twenty-two and shes writing her autobiography. So Im not sure how much shes going to be able to say at the age of twenty-two. Im certainly not being arrogant by saying that I think I would have more stories to tell, even though Im not famous or well-known like Chantelle. But still, I think Chantelles biography might be a small book! Stories Dont forget if youve got a story or a problem that you think I might be able to tackle, then drop me a line and give me the details. And well see what we can do and well see if we can get it sorted. The address to write to me is [EMAIL PROTECTED] And also, of course, if you would like one of our BBC Look North car stickers, then they are still available. Send me a stamped addressed envelope to the postal address of Peter Levy, BBC Look North, Queen's Court, Queen's Gardens, Hull, HU1 3RH. Thank you very much indeed for reading the Levy Letter. Have a good day and join me tonight on BBC One at 6.30pm.
