Tonight on the programme, Ill have the exclusive investigation into the tragic story of how a pregnant woman was stabbed to death on a Hull street by a man with a history of mental illness. Ill have more on this story tonight. Ill also have the latest on last nights election results, plus Ill be meeting the 1966 World Cup hero, Sir Geoff Hurst and Ill be hearing from Sir Cliff Richard as he promotes some of his concerts in this area later in the year. Car Parking Well, I mentioned the other day about car parking prices and how one local car park in Scunthorpe has achieved a revenue of nearly four hundred thousand pounds in the last year alone! Well, some thoughts have come in on that one. One here from Mrs Kirk in Grimsby. She says, Dear Peter, Hull is not the only place to charge for car parking on a Sunday. Grimsby council also charges on Sundays! Well, thank you for that one Mrs Kirk. And Linda has emailed in to say, Just to let you know that you have to pay to park in Boston on Sundays and on public holidays (and during the evenings, from 6.00pm to 9.00pm on normal weekdays as well). So hulls not the only place where its expensive to park! House Prices House prices are poised to take off yet again this year with values jumping by as much as 6% during 2006. That is ten thousand pounds on the cost of a three bedroom semi at £163,500. The prediction by columnists, was backed up by figures out showing that the number of mortgage approvals in March is at their highest level for nearly two years. Another 30% on the previous month. So the headline is house prices are set to soar as loans double! So thats good news if you are a home owner, but I guess if youre trying to be a first time buyer, then its not such good news. Your house stories, or indeed anything else, of course, then email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Chocolate Well, its often been thought that chocolate has been the staple diet of unhappy comfort eaters, who widely sing its praises as a boom to ones mood. But the idea that it is an anti-depressant is actually a myth. Scientists have discovered that far from lifting a bad mood, eating chocolate may actually prolong the state of unhappiness. Scientists say that we often make the mistake of thinking that eating chocolate will make us happy. Chocolate merely inspires cravings, which can then be quelled by eating it. Any mood state effects of chocolate are as ephemeral as holding chocolate in ones mouth. So there you are. Chocolate makes us sad. Its official. Do we really think that were going to believe that? Do we really think that thats going to stop us eating chocolate? Probably not! Home Deliveries We all know the scenario, sitting at home, waiting for somebody to call, waiting for somebody to deliver a parcel. Well, can you believe that in the course of a year, we waste three working days waiting for deliveries and trades people, it was revealed yesterday. Many give up a days pay or holiday to meet delivery drivers or the gas man at home, increasing their frustration when appointments are not kept. Home deliveries have soared thanks to the huge number of people buying on the Internet. But the consumer group, Which, said that many customers are being let down amidst claims that appointments and deliveries times are too often set to suit the companies. Customers have to put up with vague time slots during their working day, rather than precise appointments on the evenings or weekends. I must admit I did this a few weeks back where I had to wait in for a delivery one morning. It got past the time and I thought, well, I have to go into work. I couldnt sit at home waitin! g for a delivery. So three working days are wasted a year waiting for deliveries and tradesmen. I find that hard to believe, but still thats according to a new survey.
