Hello, its Peter here and welcome to Fridays Levy Letter. I hope your day is going well and I hope youll be able to join me tonight for Look North on BBC One at 6.30pm as usual.
Ill have all the days news and theres also a big football match tomorrow. Grimsby Town versus Lincoln City, The Mariners versus The Imps! Ill be looking at the security measures put in place, as police raise concerns for public safety. Well also have the Battle of the Fans! Two teams of fans from both Grimsby and Lincoln will be battling it out on the pitch ahead of this game. Tune in tonight to find out the all important result! And, Ill be talking to the sport legend, John Inverdale, who happens to be a Lincoln City Fan! Also on the programme tonight, find out why a Lincolnshire Rescue dog is being honoured for bravery and Ive got a very important Leave it to Levy tonight. This will be of interest to all Mums, who struggle with public transport. Ill have just the ticket for you! I hope you can join me tonight for Friday nights Look North. Also tonight, Ive got an exclusive Levy Letter competition for you now. For all you parents, who are worried youll be tearing your hair out during the half term week, then this will be of interest! Ive got some tickets to give away to see the theatre performance of The Jungle Book, at Grimsby Auditorium. Ive seen the Disney film, which is such a classic isnt it? So of course, this is going to be a great show, with some great music. So if you want to enter and be in with a chance to win tickets to go and see The Jungle Book at Grimsby, then all youve got to do is answer this question. Whats the name of the Mowglis friend, the bear? Whats the name of the bear in The Jungle Book? Of course he sings that wonderful song, The Bare Necessities. So, if you think you know the name of the bear in The Jungle book, then email me straight away to [EMAIL PROTECTED] And good luck to you all. Michelle Last night, I had the pleasure of being able to talk to Michelle Dewberry on the programme and hopefully, in the not too distant future, maybe Ill get to meet her in person as she comes up to Hull for the first time since winning the TV show. Shes a lovely lady. A well-deserved winner of The Apprentice and we wish her well. And also hello to her Mum as well, who lives, of course, in the city. Anyone else, who knows her through her family, then well done to Michelle. Pictures Dont forget if youve got any pictures that you think we should show on the Big Screen, then get in touch with me. If youre out and about at the weekend taking pictures, and you think we should see the results, then send it to me. Either send a hard copy in the post or electronically to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Property I was talking earlier on in the week about the price of houses and the fact that the average house price in Hull is £83,000 and that is the lowest in the country. The average price of a three bedroom semi is £192,000, but Hull is still the best place in the country to buy a house. But can you believe this one? A beach hut has just been sold in Abersoch in North Wales and its sold for £67,000. Can you believe that? Abersoch is getting a bit of a reputation for being the Cheshire set of on-the-sea. They all like, apparently, those who live in Cheshire, the idea of having a beach hut. But can you imagine that? £67,000 for a beach hut and that follows on from what I was saying yesterday about the parking space. What was it? I think it was £80,000 for a parking space? Anyway, I think the world is going crazy! Da Vinci Code Just a reminder that the film, the Da Vinci Code, is just about to be released and it will be in cinemas across the UK from next week. So, on the programme, well be talking about that next week, because many of the larger scenes were filmed at Lincoln Cathedral and I cant wait to see how those have turned out. There is an exhibition there at the moment of pictures from when they were filming it in the Cathedral and there are also pieces of the props that they used. They look like graves and tombs, but they are actually made of plastic. And theyre on display at the moment in the Cathedral. If youre going to Lincoln this weekend, then a visit to the Cathedral is always a good idea. Acupuncture Can you believe this one? I tried acupuncture once on the programme a few months back. I ended up having needles in my arm and in my head. But acupuncture can double your chances of becoming pregnant, scientists believe. Those, who combine the technique with IVF treatment are twice as likely to conceive, compared to those, who just have IVF alone. The ancient Chinese art of placing needles in key positions on the body has received increasing recognition as a fertility booster. It doesnt actually say what will happen if you just have acupuncture on its own do you think this will make you more fertile too? It just says that you are twice as likely to conceive if you have IVF treatment along with acupuncture. Gordon Browns wife, Sarah, was said to have used acupuncture to help her conceive and other devotees include Cherie Blair and actress, Gwyneth Paltrow. Well, if theyre doing it, then the rest of us must of course! Well, if you are trying at the moment to have a baby, ! then maybe its a good idea to have a bash at acupuncture! HD Do you know what HD is? Well, its HD TV really. The high definition television. Everybody is talking about it at the moment and everyone is moaning now that high definition television is not going to be here in time for the World Cup. Theyre saying that you can buy a high definition television, but you wont necessarily get to see high definition TV programmes. I have to declare an interest here, but I do not understand how this works one little bit. But no doubt youll be able to fill me in on this. Im sure some of my techie friends here can get me up to date on high definition television and what its going mean. Probably, what it will mean is that when high definition TV arrives here, youll be able to see my wrinkles and lines even clearer than you can already! Well, that's it from me for today. Join me tonight at half past six on BBC One. Have a very good weekend. And if youre chatting to anyone over the weekend, whos not signed up to the Levy Letter and you think they would like one, then point them in the direction of one of the two addresses at the bottom of the page, sign up and theyll get their first Levy Letter from Monday.
