The SVr4 packaging system understands http based URIs for the packages since 2006. It does support the knowledge on dependencies since a long time... If we add the inverted tsort algorith and a default prefix for packages (e.g. http://schily.net/packages) and if we combine this with ZFS, is there really something missing?
