I went to that link- my Drive actually shows up under my computer AND when I click on properties, it says it's working properly. But when I try to use the DVD, nothing happens. It makes some clicking sounds, like it can't read the disc.

I see that it brought up IE and did not call on my default browser, Firefox. I use Roxio 7 and have had no problems with updates, my CDR and DVDR combo drive continues to work. I am using a brand name PC, an HP, three years old, XP-Home, the combo writer drive was part of the package. If I remember right, Sonic and DLA were on the PC, I removed DLA and installed Roxio which I owned, have since upgraded to version 7. I have never heard of a DVD reformat/restore disk, is that from the OEM or one that was made by the poster? See http://www.theeldergeek.com/restore_missing_cd_or_dvd_drive.htm for possibly some information that will help. Elaine ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
