We have home contents insurance which covers computers and cameras etc. When Stef poured tea over the keyboard of a brand new 13" MacBook (bless him, the only time it's ever happened) the insurance company wrote a cheque for 799 quid without question for a replacement. When I asked what they wanted me to do with the dead MacBook, they guy said bin it. I ebayed it and got 300 quid back (screen untouched). Our premiums remain unchanged. We've claimed maybe 3 or 4 times in 20 years...
