Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.6 - sorting option for Albums/Artists/Songs, replay gain fix
I've always been somewhat baffled by the file type settings, so wanted to be sure I have this right. I set the Spotty file types as in post #9 here, in other words... 35243 So, playing Spotty on my SB3 or Radio or DAC32 and choosing info shows "OGG VORBIS (SPOTIFY) (CONVERTED TO PCM)". Is that correct? Is PCM better than FLAC? Also, the few times I've played Spotty on any of those players, the first seconds have stuttered somewhat, and then settled down, which it's not done before I changed these settings. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce - Song info plugin for ABC Australia radio
Paul, thanks for this. Especially useful for me, because I had no idea about ABC. I've just tried the jazz and classical stations, and all working fine, apparently timely and accurate. (I also tried your new KCRW what-are-they-playing plugin; I already knew about KCRW Eclectic, which I love when I'm in ther right mood, and again, all apparently working fine and accurately.) To my taste, the ABC jazz and classical stations have good content, if a little heavy at times. Which leads me to a separate, related point. The ABC plugin made it clear to me that there are still plenty of good (=to my taste) stations out there I don't know about. I wonder which of the forums here would be the place to get some other suggestions going, where we might share info on some good 'uns? I'd be happy to start a conversation about jazz stations, for example. For me, using Safari 10.1.1 on MacOS 10.12.5, it's still the case that if you right-click on a shortened url in this forum and choose the only relevant option, "Copy Link", and then paste it somewhere, you get just the shortened version. Do it in Chrome or Opera, and you're offered "Copy Link Address", and in Firefox "Copy Link Location", and that will deliver the full url when you paste. Bit of a shortcoming in Safari, in fact. whitman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9053 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107477 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Paul, I've been noticing that about the absence of readouts during the lovely jazzafip section, too. However ... if you switch to one of the regional feeds during jazzafip -- I've been using Strasbourg since our chum lopasilver posted that pdf of URLs -- you'll find that the artist and song readouts appear. This seems to be a workaround until your "ideas" take shape, I think. (And no, my French didn't suddenly improve ... Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce - Song info plugin for FIP radio
Paul, just wanted to thank you for this plugin. I stumbled on FIP toward the end of last year and I love the main station. The one thing lacking, given my rudimentary French, was a readout of artist and title ... and now you've filled that gap. I didn't know about your earlier plugin, but this new one is a godsend. I've now added the jazz stream and the rock stream to my faves, but the main FIP station remains my real fave. Even if I dont grasp much of the banter from the presenters, the girls all sound sexy and the boys all unshaven. Or is the other way around? Anyway, such an eclectic (yes, éclectique!) mix of music. Right up my street. This is what Squeezebox has always been about and hopefully always will. I'm using the workaround you suggested above: in other words, go in via BBCiPlayer (I'm using 1.4.9). But I noticed this thread ... http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?106504-Iplayer-Extra-only-working-when-Dash-is-Disabled ... which seems to highlight the same or similar problem, and arising more or less at the same date mine did. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.5.2 beta test
Interesting. I didn't know I could get On Demand through BBCiPlayer. I've always used Extras for that. Anyway, I just tried BBCiPlayer as follows: BBCiPlayer>BBC Radio 2>Saturday>08:05 Sounds Of The 60s, and that does play the show. So at least I know I can use that successfully. I was trying (the route I've always used) BBCiPlayerExtras>Radio 2 A-Z>S programs>Sounds Of The 60s>Sounds of the 60s 19/11/16, and that still gives "Playlist Empty". My current settings are: BBCiPlayer Live: DASH/HLS/MP3/FlashAAC On Demand: DASH/HLS/MP3/FlashAAC BBCiPlayer Extras Select if you do not want DASH streams: unchecked bpa wrote: > Probably because I showed 1.5.* - I don't have 1.4.* online. > > > Unlikely to be coincidence. > > Please be more exact about settings and how you play programs. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.5.2 beta test
Thanks Bpa. I've fiddled with a few settings for On demand, because there's nothing exactly as you suggested. This could be a coincidence, but I'm now getting "Playlist Empty" when I try to connect to some shows On Demand. To see if it is indeed coincidence and the Beeb are up to something, before I try other stuff, could someone check to see if they can play Radio 2's Sounds Of The 60s for 19th Nov? That's one I'm getting "Playlist Empty" when I try to connect On Demand. (I'm in the UK.) bpa wrote: > Extras has been updated for 2 small issues. > 1. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.5.2 beta test
I've had a further think, Bpa, and for now I'll continue with iPlayer 1.4.9 and Extras 1.9.3 (despite the fact I have your "report-short" repository in the Additional Repositories slot, Extras hasn't been updated to 1.9.5: should it?). I've changed the settings for Live (actually has to be this way around: DASH > HLS > MP3 > FlashAAC) and In Demand as you instructed. I don't think I've seen clear instructions anywhere for what these settings should be in various circumstances, so I was never quite sure what they ought to be. I'll install 1.5.x when it comes out of beta. Thanks for all your help with this, Bpa. bpa wrote: > AFAIK The "herger.net" repository is M. Mac user here, OS 10.12.1, LMS 7.9.0. I keep the Superdatetime folder, as downloaded from Boomx2 on this thread (current version, 5.9.34), in Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/. Recently, whenever I reboot the computer, SDT vanishes from that folder and, therefore, from LMS. OK, thanks bpa: I changed the BBC iPlayer settings, On Demand Stream Preference, to HLS > DASH > MP3 > FlashAAC > FlashMP3, and all seems to be working now. Is that the best setting to use? I'm a bit baffled by the long list of formats there. Do I need them all? There are certainly shorter lists in the options. The only reason I can think for having these DASH versions is that I did change the bpa repository a while back, because I read a post here that I thought implied I ought to. I can't "click" on anything on my SB3s or in the web view, but iPeng came to the rescue: once I was into TuneIn Radio there and thence into Jazz FM and catchup, the shows were listed with broadcast dates, so very easy to play the precise episodes I want. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Jazz FM changed again!
Frozzers, the Tunein Radio scheme is very useful. Like others here, I have the Tunein app but, er ... never really looked at it. I've been trying to find a way to get back into Jazz FM playback for ages. (I posted a few times earlier in this thread.) The only negative I can see for now with using Tunein is that once you're into Jazz FM's playback list, there's no extra info there beyond the name of the show. For example, I like to listen to Helen Mayhew's or Sarah Ward's Dinner Jazz show, so it would be really nice to know what date the three or four shows listed are. I can't see that info. So it's a bit ... random. Nonetheless, great to be able once again to get into Jazz FM's playback stuff. [15-05-06 18:43:58.8485] Plugins::BBCiPlayerExtra::ExtraPlayableParser::parse (146) Extra Playable playlist URL =http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05t2dj9/playlist.json [15-05-06 19:02:27.7371] Plugins::BBCiPlayerExtra::ExtraPlayableParser::parse (146) Extra Playable playlist URL =http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05ss73q/playlist.json The rebufferings began to happen about 20 minutes after that second log there, around 7:15, and then regularly from about 7:25. I gave up shortly after that. whitman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9053 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103481 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer rebuffering
My listening, mostly On Demand via BBC Extras, still plagued with rebuffering. This evening, for example, tried listening to Clare Teal, R2 26-4-15, and died after a minute or so, so I restarted the stream, successfully this time, but then rebuffering constantly after 20 minutes or so. Again, if it would help sort this out, I could provide a log, but I'd need some guidance as it's ages since I've done that. whitman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9053 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103481 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Jazz FM changed again!
In case anyone's still interested, I contacted Jazz FM and asked if they could come up with new URLs. Their first response was ... Responsibility for the server side stuff for all streaming on-demand is now with Sharpstream. ... We stopped using those set of links in December and now each programme has an unique mp3 stream (this is to do with how they are set to record) waiting to hear back from Sharpstream if we can get a set of URLs up and running again. And now, a few months later ... Apologies just chased Sharp Stream on this and unfortunately at the moment they dont have this feature available now weve flagged it up its something they will look into developing as and when they launch other new features however for the time being there is no date set for this. Oh well. whitman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9053 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102210 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer rebuffering
Oh well, so much for that theory. Went to Extras this evening, around 6:45pm, and played the Listen Again stream of this week's Jamie Cullum show, R2. OK for about 40 minutes, then rebuffered very briefly, once. Just a jitter, I thought. Then about five minutes later, a rebuffering, then five more, one after the other, in short order. It then played fine for another five minutes or so, at which point I turned off. whitman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9053 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103481 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer rebuffering
Well, some interesting behaviour this evening. First, around 6:30pm, I started Bob Harris On Sunday, R2, BBCiPlayer. Stopped dead after about 6 minutes. Immediately restarted it, from the beginning: stopped dead about 8 minutes in. Not rebuffering: just a dead stop. Went to BBCiPlayer Extras and started the same show. Ran absolutely fine for 45 minutes or so, until I stopped it myself. About 7:15pm, started Jazz Lineup, R3, on BBC iPlayer. Ran perfectly, for 45 minutes or so until I stopped it myself. About 8:00pm, started Clare Teal, R2, on BBCiPlayer. After 15 minutes or so, it stopped dead. Again, no rebuffering, just a sudden halt. For what it's worth ... whitman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9053 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103481 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
