i have been trying to add MusicMagic to the Slimserver. After some
messing around I seem to have got the mm icon up and running but it
always answers "Playlist is empty" So I thought a nice re-scan of my
library. The library contains about 1100 albums on 94GB. I launched

Hi,
I've been unable to get to most (all?) Live365 stations for the last
several days. The SB3 just says "Connecting..." but never plays
anything. I've tried playing stations from SB3 directly and also from
slimserver with the same results.
Anyone have ideas how I might go about fixing this?

The operating system i am using is XP and the router is the orange

These results are always after a erase/rebuild library.
I search for an artist who I know exist and get no results.
If I search for the compilation CD the artist appears on, the tracks
are there with the correct artist name. When I select the track and
then artist from the CD, I again get no re

I haven't seen a need for v1 tags since 2001, so I can't imagine they're
needed now. Some software used to behave incorrectly when faced with
both format tags in a file.
Slimserver seems to support v2.x without an issue, so I'd simply strip
the v1.x stuff if I were you.

I had a similar issue. This is how I resolved it:
-my iTunes playlist prefix was blank, so I added one
-did a playlist only scan
-streams (and other missing playlist items show up)
-just for grins, set playlist prefix back to blank
-did a playlist only scan
-all playlists still show correctly...

a UPnP box. If UPnP can be added without any other sacrifices then

Actually, to clarify my earlier post, the Squeezebox can only talk to
Slimserver. It cannot talk directly to uPNP media servers.
However Slimserver can see uPNP servers on your network and will make
the media shared by these available to the Squeezebox.

even as small as the T-Amp. I'm not surprised that noise was amplified
to an intolerable level, and I don't think you'll like the results with
music either.

The massive advantage of using Slimserver rather than a standard uPNP
server is customisation. You get a web frontened that can be tailored

complete wireless system to connect their server and SB to the router
and I'd just like to vouch for this.
My router is in a cupboard that is pretty central to the whole house
... my PC (running SS) is in the office in the loft and
very interesting Florca, good to hear you got it all working reliably.
The only down side of DVB-x vs DAB is the lack of local stations...but
then again, i never listen to them anyway :)

Yes - the T-Amp makes no audible noise.
You may find that noise will be introduced into the combination,
possibly by the power supply or RFI from other divices.
Unless the listening volume is intended to be low you will need
efficient speakers as the T-Amp only puts out around 6 (real
world)watt
